This role is part of Alcon's Global Security Department, a department that supports the U.S. MTO Management & Executive Protection Team in Fort Worth, TX.

The Watch Officer for the Global Security Operations Center is responsible for executing operational tasks that support secure, efficient, and compliant security operations. This role ensures seamless physical security for Alcon's property, assets, and employees by following established procedures, applying advanced skills, and using sound judgment.

Specifics Include:

  • Dispatches and coordinates responses impacting Alcon's assets globally.

  • Monitors the access control system and supports badge access functions.

  • Monitors intelligence providers, global news, and open-source media for events that could impact Alcon's operations and disseminates relevant information to leadership.

  • Actively seeks and communicates information on incidents that may affect global sites.

  • Uses SOPs, training, research resources, and critical thinking skills to escalate events appropriately to Watch Officer Lead(s) and GSOC manager.

  • Produces clear, concise written incident reports summarizing events, impacts, and response status.

  • Maintains continuous and accurate documentation of events throughout the shift.

  • Understands Alcon's global footprint to anticipate operational and organizational needs.

  • Receives, evaluates, and disseminates information from on-site security, global points of contact, employees, and other sources, engaging Watch Officer Lead(s) when needed.

  • Works effectively with security team members and intelligence analyst in a collaborative environment.

  • Suggests program improvements to Watch Officer Lead(s) or the GSOC Manager.

  • Tracks and reports on metrics related to operational output and deliverables.

  • Performs tasks related to designing, developing, and maintaining security processes and system integrations.

  • Supports actions and tasks related to incident management, risk and intelligence, protective services, investigations, and aviation security.

  • Follows product concerns, crisis management protocols, escalation plans, and required training.

  • Responds appropriately to safety and security assistance requests, and coordinates with local law enforcement.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Work Hours: Weekend shift consists of three 12hour shifts totaling 36 hours, running from 6:00 PM CST to 6:00 AM CST each day from Friday evening through Monday morning

  • Travel Requirements: 0%

  • Location: Onsite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in incident response, security operations or a related field required, with a demonstrated history of excellence and reliability.

  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to operate effectively with a medium degree of autonomy and moderate supervision.

  • Intelligence analysis and/or threat assessment knowledge.

  • General understanding of site security operations.

  • Intermediate communication skills.

  • Intermediate attention to detail and ability to follow protocols with the drive to progress and learn.

  • Able to provide clear and concise verbal briefings.

  • Familiarity with global affairs and events, with the ability to contextualize against Alcon's global footprint.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of Google Earth and Maps.

  • Effective problem-solving skills.

  • Fast learner and ability to coordinate several initiatives simultaneously.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with little supervision.

  • Ability to adhere to timelines and deadlines with effective time management skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional rapport with other Watch Officers, Watch Officer Lead(s), GSOC Manager, R&I Director, the greater security leadership, and client stakeholders.

  • Accurate typing and written skills.
