Smith is hiring a GSOC Lead Operator to provide frontline leadership within our 24x7x365 Global Security Operations Center. This role serves as the shift leader, responsible for overseeing GSOC operators, ensuring high-quality incident response, and maintaining operational continuity across global security functions.
The ideal candidate is an experienced GSOC professional who can lead by example, make critical decisions in real time, and support the development of a high-performing team.

Shift will be either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat 9pm - 7am
What You'll Do
  • Serve as shift lead for GSOC operations, overseeing operators and daily activities
  • Monitor and support physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) across global locations
  • Review, prioritize, and direct incident triage and escalation
  • Act as the primary decision-maker during shifts for critical incidents and escalations
  • Coordinate cyber incident intake and escalation with IT/security partners
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting, SITREPs, and executive notifications
  • Monitor global events and oversee travel risk support for employees
  • Support and supervise badging and access control operations
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to GSOC Operators
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs while identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Assist with crisis response activation and cross-functional coordination

What You Bring
  • 4-7 years of experience in a GSOC, SOC, or security operations environment
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role (formal or informal)
  • Strong understanding of incident management and escalation protocols
  • Proven ability to lead during high-pressure situations
  • Experience in 24/7 operational environments (shift work required)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to brief leadership during incidents
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills

Preferred
  • Experience with Verkada VMS, Everbridge, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting integrated security operations (physical + cyber)
  • Background in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or emergency response
  • Experience mentoring or training junior operators
