Job description

The Global Family Manager is responsible for overall program execution, directing cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, and supplier quality. Global FM ensures all deliverables and targets defined in the approved initiative are achieved throughout the project lifecycle (cost, timing, quality, and performance).
Responsibilities include:
  • Manages all the aspects of the assigned program to assure cost, time, quality and performance achievement
  • Coordinates cross functional Platform team involved in program targets achievement. Platform team includes all the functions in the company (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Supply chain, Finance, Planning...)
  • Responsible to ensure program budget achievement identifying all possible efficiencies vs. approved business case
  • Ensures procedures, best practices and methodologies application according to required standards and leads program documentation creation, monitoring and updating in line with Global Powertrain (Propulsion Systems) Development Process
  • Responsible to ensure product readiness to support approved launches while defining appropriate timing milestones for the given project and leading the change review meetings
  • Coordinates and supports engineering teams to deliver prototype and production batches that meet vehicle / program requirements
  • Co-leads proactive risk management tasks with QM and Platform team (i.e LUR), tracks/leads risk status update
  • Supports the technical reviews/evaluations in respect to program targets/milestones.
  • Leads the responses to investigate/action bulletins related to product/process changes
  • Coordination and implementation of Value Optimization and Quality Improvement activities

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related degree field
  • Minimum of 10 years of propulsion system related engineering and/or program management experience
  • Understanding of phased gated launch processes for product development
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to and prepare presentations for executive leadership
  • Strong cross functional team management skills along with superior written and oral skills
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, and have the ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in with emphasis in Business, Finance, Management, or Engineering
  • PMP Certification
  • Minimum 10 years of propulsion system related engineering and/or program management experience
  • 5 or more years or more in design, development and / or validation of engines
