Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Vertiv is seeking an enthusiastic and committed IT audit professional to join its Global Risk Oversight (GRO) function. Primary responsibilities of the position will be to oversee the performance and completion of IT audit engagements, conduct IT general and application control testing and related procedures in support of Vertiv's SOX program, plan and perform select IT audit projects, and complete other duties as directed by GRO leadership. In addition, the successful candidate will, from time to time, provide consultative IT support services to strengthen risk mitigation practices, increase internal control awareness, and drive positive change and continuous improvement across business functions. As a member of the GRO team, the successful candidate will be based in Columbus, OH, and will report to the Senior Director, Global Risk Oversight. 

The mission of Global Risk Oversight is to protect and enhance Vertiv's enterprise value by delivering independent assurance and risk management services. GRO supports the organization in managing known and emerging risks, promotes ethical conduct, and drives continuous improvement in business processes and controls to achieve financial and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently and objectively plan and execute audits in accordance with professional auditing standards
  • Lead and execute test procedures in accordance with applicable audit standards and the department's standard audit methodology
  • Deliver quality results within established deadlines
  • Adopt and incorporate the use of artificial intelligence in all aspects of the practice
  • Clearly and concisely communicate (verbally and in writing) to GRO team members and external stakeholders
  • Build trust and effective relationships throughout the organization 
  • Apply a risk-based approach and assist in the development of the 18-month rolling audit plan
  • Conduct and supervise testing of IT general controls and application controls
  • Support global IT audit activities across the regions 
  • Continuously invest in advancing knowledge of the IT systems and supporting operations
  • Provide actionable recommendations that address root causes and support sustainable remediation of identified findings
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, external contacts, and professional associations
  • Stay informed of regulatory and other changes impacting the organization's IT and security infrastructure
  • Comply with internal policies, procedures, and practices
  • Participate in system implementations and/or enhancements to advise on risk considerations and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with financial, operational, and IT teams across all regions 
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or similar field
  • Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience in IT
  • Knowledge of IT risk management and control techniques and frameworks
  • CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, or a comparable professional certification is required
  • Significant IT SOX compliance experience 
  • Extensive understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, systems evaluation, and security governance
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Oracle experience is a plus
  • Big 4 and/or public accounting experience is a plus
  • Up to 25% travel, including international travel
  • Full-time on-site work is required and is an essential requirement of this position
