Job description

The Senior Manager, Global Logistics & Indirect, is responsible for leading the development and execution of global logistics and indirect procurement strategies to optimize cost, service, quality, and delivery performance across the enterprise.

This role provides strategic leadership across logistics operations and indirect spend categories, driving network optimization, supplier performance, and cost transformation initiatives. This position partners cross-functionally with global stakeholders to deliver business results, enable scalable processes, and support long-term supply chain strategy.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Logistics Strategy & Execution
    • Lead global FCV logistics strategy, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution network optimization.
    • Drive initiatives to improve service levels, reduce total landed cost, and mitigate supply chain risk.
    • Oversee logistics service providers (LSPs), including selection, performance management, and contract execution.
    • Enable standardization and deployment of logistics best practices across regions by partnering with Emersons Global Mode Team.
    • Ensure FCV participation in Emerson’s Mode Team actively and steer the Logistics Spend Strategy and Freight Cost Tensioning for all modes (Heavy Air/ Ocean/ Parcel / Surface Transport).
    • Implement Air Freight Spot Bid Process across FCV sites to support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Indirect Procurement Leadership
    • Own FCV global indirect sourcing strategy across key categories (logistics, services, and operational spend)
    • Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost savings initiatives
    • Ensure alignment with business objectives, compliance requirements, and financial targets
    • Develop category strategies that support long‑term scalability and resilience
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with global suppliers and service providers
    • Influence and align senior stakeholders across supply chain, operations, and finance
    • Drive supplier performance improvement and resolution of escalations (cost, quality, delivery and lead time)
  • Network Optimization & Transformation
    • Lead cross‑functional initiatives to optimize global supply chain and distribution networks
    • Identify and implement digital tools, analytics, and process improvements
    • Champion continuous improvement and standardization across logistics and procurement processes
  • Performance & Financial Management
    • Establish and track KPIs across logistics and indirect spend (cost, delivery, quality, service and lead time)
    • Deliver measurable cost savings and working capital improvements
    • Provide regular insights and reporting to senior leadership
    • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
    • Global responsibility for logistics and indirect procurement

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, sourcing, or indirect procurement
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in global or multi‑regional roles
  • Strong negotiation, financial acumen, and project management skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and logistics tools
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience leading indirect spend categories and global logistics networks
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and freight optimization tools
  • APICS, CIPS, or similar certification
  • Proven track record of driving transformation and cost optimization initiatives
