Job Title: Vice President, Global Physical Logistics
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 office days a week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President of Global Physical Logistics. As the Global Head of Logistics & Government Property will be responsible for all aspects of engine and material movement for the Defense Business including the safety of the people and the product.
This role is part of the Business Support team within Defense, working specifically within the Delivery & Execution organization. The primary purpose of this part of the organization is to provide a "gearbox" between the Supply and Profit & Loss (P&L) parts of the organization in relation to all aspects of product delivery.
Specifically in the role of Vice President, Global Physical Logistics you will be accountable for establishment of the execution of the 3PL logistics contracts for delivery and warehousing service, ensuring achievement of the holistic contractual SLA performance, leading the governance of the performance reviews, cost reduction programs, integrating with global logistics transformation programs,
Key to success will be timely escalation/intervention, flawless two-way communication and influence across the Division/Group. The role itself will be highly visible, cutting across levels with the aim of driving the best possible result for One Rolls-Royce. These levels will include engagement with Supplier and Customer facing organizations, providing business support as required.

What you will be doing:
  • Drive and promote a safety culture across the organisation and throughout our Global 3PLs.
  • Represent the Defense Global Business with leadership, accountability, and expertise in warehousing and transportation as well as drive the Defence Global Logistics Strategy in coordination with the Transformation Office and the other RR Business Sectors
  • Accountable for overseeing the Bristol team of Shipping and Compliance Controllers, the Aviation Security on the Defence Assembly Operations Facility, the Waste Packaging Submission, and the SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) letter to the Defense CFO.
  • Accountable for the Defence Global Logistics budget, driving cost savings in all warehousing and transportation areas, and ensuring that all costs are accurately apportioned into Commercial and Programs.
  • Manage a multi-functional GP team that is cross-trained and able to support any issues or projects globally which includes a team of Logistics Operations Managers and Logistics Specialists (Super Users).
  • Accountable for the relationship with our 3PLs for warehousing and transportation contract management for RR Defence Globally and ensuring all the contractually agreed KPIs are met while driving down cost and maximizing output across the Global organization.

  • Extensive experience with Supply Chain in a large international business, with experience in manufacturing and lean a strong positive
  • Supply Chain planning experience across multi-sites in a global construct.
  • Adept with SAP. "Can-do" mindset, with a positive approach to demanding situations where others require support.

Basic Requirements:
  • Associate degree with 10+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, OR
  • JD/PhD with 3+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, OR
  • 12+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements:
  • Global team management
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Green or Blackbelt certification
  • 3PL Logistic experience
