Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for Vice President of Global Physical Logistics. As Global Head of Logistics & Government Property, responsible for engine and material movement for the Defense Business, ensuring safety of people and products. Part of Business Support team within Defense, working within the Delivery & Execution organization.

Role includes establishing execution of 3PL logistics contracts, ensuring contract SLA performance, governance of performance reviews and cost reduction programs, integration with global logistics transformation programs. Requires timely escalation/intervention, flawless communication, influence across division.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Drive and promote a safety culture across the organisation and throughout our Global 3PLs.
  • Represent the Defense Global Business with leadership, accountability, and expertise in warehousing and transportation; drive the Defence Global Logistics Strategy in coordination with the Transformation Office.
  • Oversee Bristol team of Shipping and Compliance Controllers, Aviation Security on the Defence Assembly Operations Facility, Waste Packaging Submission, and SAO letter to the Defence CFO.
  • Manage the Defence Global Logistics budget, drive cost savings, ensure accurate cost allocation to Commercial and Programs.
  • Manage a multi‑functional GP team that is cross‑trained and supports any issues or projects globally, including Logistics Operations Managers and Logistics Specialists.
  • Lead relationship with 3PLs for warehousing and transportation contract management globally; ensure contractual KPIs are met while driving cost reduction and output maximization.

  • Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills with a proven track record in multi‑discipline roles.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong people management, development and coaching experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate change management with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, embracing simplicity.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization and solve problems in evolving situations.
  • Proven record of influencing and leading outside direct management accountability.
  • In‑depth understanding of the Defense business, with passion for the mission.
  • Extensive experience with Supply Chain in a large international business; experience in manufacturing and lean.
  • Supply Chain planning experience across multi‑sites in a global construct.
  • Proficient with SAP; can‑do mindset with a positive approach to demanding situations.
Basic Requirements
  • Associate degree with 10+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, or
  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, or
  • JD/PhD with 3+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience, or
  • 12+ years of Warehousing, Commercial, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Requirements
  • Global team management.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Green or Blackbelt certification.
  • 3PL Logistics experience.
