About Sterling Vineyards
Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley. Closed in September 2020 following the Glass Fire that affected much of the area, Sterling reopened to guests in October 2023 complete with a new gondola system, re-imagined visitor spaces and a fresh take on Napa Valley hospitality.
About the role
Sterling Vineyards is looking for a Seasonal Tasting Room Support Associate with a background in customer service, a good eye for detail, and truly enjoys fostering a wonderful experience for every guest that visits the property. As a Tasting Room Support Associate, you will be the main point of contact for our guests, so a polite, friendly, and energetic demeanour is a must.
Responsibilities
  • Set-up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
  • Provide world class customer service to site visitors
  • Assist in events, private dinners and various site activities
  • Assist with restocking, inventory, wine packing and floor upkeep
  • Register operations, retail sales and wine club promotions
  • Follow site policies and procedures.
  • Complete projects and other duties as directed by Retail Sales Manager.

About you
  • You must be 18 years of age
  • You have some experience in retail sales or a similar hospitality setting
  • Exemplary customer service skills required
  • You have strong presentation skills with the ability to relay knowledge of wines and wine production
  • You are dynamic with a positive attitude
  • You have a clean professional appearance, and you excel at teamwork and interactions
  • Knowledge of food and wine, the wine industry, Napa and Bay Area restaurants
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (a case of wine)
  • Wine industry and/or tasting room experience is highly desired but not required
  • This position must work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), some holidays and evenings

Pay Transparency Disclosure:
Base pay: Hourly rate ranges from $17.79 to $22.12 per hour, based on experience, skills, role scope, location, and business needs.
Incentive pay: Eligible to participate in the Direct-to-Consumer Sales Incentive Plan (DSIP), offering variable compensation based on site performance. Incentive pay is not guaranteed.
Estimated on-target earnings: $19.57 to $24.33 per hour, based on base pay plus target DSIP at target performance (where applicable). Actual earnings vary based on site performance, hours worked, and role classification.
Tips: Tips are paid by customers and vary by location, shift, and customer volume. Tips are not guaranteed.
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, candidate experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and applicable employment laws. This role will be eligible for an annual bonus as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
