Job description

        

Job Purpose                                       

Analyze, plan, organize, and commercialize new products and/or services, based on market needs and in line with the corporate and product line strategy. Consult with customers, Geozone, sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing teams from initial concepts, feasibility, business planning, development, implementation, and commercialization, continuing through the product cycle to optimize profit for assigned new products, inline with financial and corporate growth objectives.  Accountable throughout the product development and commercialization process, that product viability and financial targets are maintained by updating business cases through gates.  Accountable for regular reviews with PL management on the progress and product performance and developing plans to close any gaps from stated goals and objectives. Accountable for individual product financial KPIs are met or exceeded and that clear value drivers are articulated and delivered to maximize pricing.

QUALITY  

  • Active participation in the investigation and closure of all service quality issues related to new product commercialization that are assigned and assuring that these are closed out in a timely manner and they are reported to line management through Weatherford's process and policy and impacts are tracked to improve further product expansion. 

  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and taking an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System  

  • Maintains Service Quality as an immediate priority when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement 

OPERATIONS  

  • Technical product line expert for the global product line for new technology 

  • Acts as the liaison between the customers, Product Line Management, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and engineering during development and product launch 

  • Ability to articulate and develop clear value propositions based on the new technology business case 

  • Ensure that commercial proposals and value propositions are delivered with product line director/VP approval based on the business case 

  • Ensures adequate resources are in place to properly field trial and launch the new technology 

  • Identifies candidate wells and work with customers to ensure the field trial objectives are met 

  • Provides technical input/support into all new product/service-related incidents, following up on corrective actions and evaluation the success of these actions for assigned new products 

  • Ensures the operational performance statistics/KPIs of the new product are continuously updated and evaluated, providing feedback to Global Product Line Manager and Geozone Product Line Manager for assigned products 

  • Provides feedback/supporting materials to Training/Development team for Field Engineer and Sales training to commercialize new products 

  • Reviews all field trial results with customers and ensure value is delivered and tracked to optimize pricing 

  • Assists in supporting the launch of PL strategy, both in the planning and in the execution  

  • Supports Global Product Line Manager and Geozone Product Line Manager to develop and execute the business plan for the new product for the Geozone 

  • Actively promotes the new technology within the Geozone to ensure all business objectives are met following the commercial launch of the new technology 

  • Gathers customer feedback to further improve the product/service and/or optimize features against financial metrics and delivery times.  

  • Ensures Lessons Learned as the product moves from product launch into the early commercialization phase are communicated to the Global Product Line Manager 

  • Provide Product Knowledge training 

  • to customers on the new technology and its applications 

  • to local Weatherford Sales staff on the new technology, its applications and how to sell and price the new services 

  • Creates clear and thorough acceptance criteria to ensure that the team understands when work is complete; participates in the retrospective 

  • Provide direct, high-level support to customers for critical new technology services 

  • Lead cross functional teams, including sales and marketing, Geozone, sales, and customers to develop real results and case histories to promote the new service and articulate the value propositions 

  • Analyze Repair & Maintenance data and work with RD&E to drive the improvements (including field trial) required for the effective reduction of cost/c 

COMMUNICATION  

  • Maintain communication and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, schedule, and sales information for product line 

  • Promote Weatherford's new technology within the industry by writing technical papers, attending industry conferences, contributing to the development of technical marketing material, making technical sales presentations to customers, and providing other technical support to sales and operations 

  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external 

FINANCIAL  

  • Define and ensure financial KPIs are measured as per the value propositions and business cases and communicate clear value to the PL and to customers to maintain pricing targets 

  • Track all costs associated with new product development for assigned products, including RD&E spend, marketing, CAPEX, inventory and other operating expenses to verify profitability targets are met through initial commercialization phases 

  • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses 

  • Costs incurred should be within the approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure 

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT  

  • Partner with Technical Development and PL service delivery teams and develop training and service delivery plans in line with  for assigned new products 

  • Provide operational technical support for all globally active operations to ensure tools are run within specification and following best practices and lessons learned 

  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function training to enhance their skills and experience 

  • Employees must complete all assigned Compliance & Company Standards training 

  • Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential 

VISION & LEADERSHIP

Experience & Education

 

REQUIRED 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience 

  • 10+ years of oilfield experience  

PREFERRED 

  • Master's and/or PhD degree  

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management 

  • Experience in sales and marketing
