The Operations Security and Compliance Specialist supports the execution of security and compliance programs designed to protect high-value cargo and ensure adherence to CTPAT and TAPA (FSR/TSR) standards. This role focuses on the hands-on implementation, monitoring, and documentation of security controls across transportation and warehouse operations. This role will be responsible for supporting the development for security & compliance planning per customer service agreement and to ensure the alignment and training with operational staff and leadership roles for execution.
Working under the guidance of the Operations Security and Compliance Manager maintains daily workflows while supporting audits, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Facility Security Implementation:
    • Conduct routine facility security checks (access control, CCTV, visitor logs, seal control).
    • Support facility assessments and track remediation actions.
    • Ensure security SOPs and post orders are followed and up to date.
    • Assist warehouse teams with secure storage and handling practices.

  • Carrier & Partner Security Support:
    • Assist in reviewing carrier onboarding documentation and security compliance records.
    • Support carrier vetting activities, including data collection and validation against CTPAT/TAPA requirements.
    • Maintain and organize carrier security files, certifications, and audit documentation.
    • Escalate gaps or risks to leadership for further review.

  • Transport & Shipment Security Support:
    • Monitor shipment security requirements such as seal integrity, tracking, and secure parking compliance.
    • Assist with route risk awareness and daily shipment reviews.
    • Coordinate with operations to ensure proper execution of high-value shipment controls.
    • Report anomalies, delays, or security risks in transit.

  • • Compliance Documentation & Audit Preparation:
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation (risk assessments, logs, training records).
    • Assist in preparation for CTPAT validations, TAPA audits, and customer reviews.

  • Incident Support & Reporting:
    • Assist in documenting theft, loss, or tampering incidents Gather data and evidence for investigations.
    • Support root cause analysis and corrective action tracking Maintain incident logs and trend reports.

  • Training & Awareness Support:
    • Assist in delivering security awareness training to frontline teams.
    • Reinforce security procedures and reporting protocols.
    • Help promote a strong operational security culture.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education
High School Diploma or GED with relevant work experience (required) or
Some College/Associate's Degree in Security, Criminal Justice, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience) (preferred)
Experience
1+ years in logistics, warehouse operations, or security/compliance support (required)
Exposure to CTPAT, TAPA, or similar regulatory frameworks (preferred)
Experience with high-value freight or supply chain operations is a plus (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Provides data, documentation, and field visibility for decision-making
Ability to follow procedures and escalate issues appropriately High
