How does the Global Operations Security team typically collaborate with other departments to manage and mitigate security risks?

Global Operations Security professionals frequently work cross-functionally, partnering with IT, compliance, legal, and business units to identify potential risks and implement security protocols. This collaboration ensures that security measures align with business objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance. Regular communication and teamwork are essential to quickly address emerging threats and to foster a unified security culture across the organization.

What is Global Operations Security?

Global Operations Security refers to the strategies, processes, and technologies used to protect an organization’s assets and operations across international locations. This field focuses on identifying and mitigating security risks, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and coordinating incident response across different countries. Professionals in this area work on both physical and cyber security, aiming to safeguard people, data, and infrastructure in a global business environment.

To thrive in Global Operations Security, you need a solid understanding of risk management, cybersecurity principles, and international security standards, typically supported by a relevant degree and professional certifications like CISSP or CISM. Strong analytical thinking, cross-cultural communication, and decisive leadership are crucial soft skills in this field.
