Job description

Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking a litigation associate with up to 10 years of experience to join our growing litigation and insurance coverage practice in Seattle. This practice primarily represents insurers in coverage and bad faith cases but also defends corporate clients through trial in commercial litigation and catastrophic loss and wrongful death claims.

We are open to considering candidates who may not have a background in insurance coverage, but that are eager to learn.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients.

  • Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda.

  • Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation.

  • Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.

  • Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.

  • Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Possesses excellent academic credentials.

  • Is admitted to practice in WA and in good standing with the bar.

  • Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • Has strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.

  • Has effective problem-solving skills.

  • Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Has an interest in insurance coverage and coverage litigation matters.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $200,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
