Job description

We are partnering with a leading global investment management firm to identify a Director – Fund Finance & Accounting to join its finance organization. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting and finance professional who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic business partnering.

In this role, you'll lead investment-related analytics and reporting across a diversified investment portfolio, working closely with finance, investment, and executive leadership teams. You'll play a key role in forecasting investment income, analyzing portfolio performance, supporting the accounting close process, and delivering insights that help drive business decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead forecasting and analysis of net investment income, book yield, and portfolio performance across a diverse range of investment assets.

  • Develop and enhance forecasting models for fixed income, mortgage loans, equities, and alternative investments.

  • Analyze key performance drivers, including investment activity, yield, spreads, credit performance, and market trends.

  • Partner with accounting and finance teams to support the monthly and quarterly close process and explain investment-related results.

  • Investigate earnings fluctuations and provide meaningful analysis to senior leadership.

  • Prepare reporting and presentations for executive management and other key stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting, and operational processes through automation and technology.

  • Partner with technology teams to enhance reporting infrastructure and data quality.

  • Help establish best practices around reporting, data governance, and financial analytics.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in investment accounting, fund finance, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, public accounting, consulting, or asset management.

  • Strong understanding of investment accounting, fund finance, financial reporting, and forecasting.

  • Experience analyzing investment portfolios that include fixed income, mortgage loans, equities, or alternative investments.

  • Ability to interpret accounting results and translate them into meaningful business insights.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to senior leadership.

  • Experience driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
