Job Description:

The Global Financial Crimes Threat Identification & Liaison Manager is a subject matter expert on financial crime National Priority areas (corruption, cybercrime and misuse of virtual currencies, terrorist financing, fraud, transnational organized crime and third-party money laundering, drug trafficking organizations, human trafficking/human smuggling, and proliferation financing) and is responsible for executing enterprise financial crime threat identification practices consistent with applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance.

Key responsibilities include researching and assessing emerging financial crime threats and typologies, providing advisory support to Front Line Unit (FLU) and Control Function (CF) compliance and operational risk officers, supporting information sharing across stakeholders, and maintaining working-level external partnerships that strengthen threat intelligence and public-private collaboration. Job expectations include exercising sound independent judgment within established frameworks, conducting proactive threat identification activities, escalating significant threats and issues to appropriate governance routines, and ensuring threats and trends are clearly documented and communicated to senior leaders and impacted stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts identification and assessment of emerging financial crime threats, typologies, and illicit finance risks within an assigned National Priority coverage area, and recommends risk mitigation priorities
  • Maintains working-level relationships with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations to support intelligence sharing, public-private collaboration, and threat awareness
  • Translates internal and external intelligence into threat assessments, targeted risk analyses, and actionable recommendations for review by senior leadership
  • Advises FLU/CF compliance and operational risk officers and prepares materials for governance routines on significant financial crime threats, regulatory developments, and emerging risk trends
  • Supports enhancements to financial crime prevention, detection, monitoring, and surveillance capabilities by partnering with business, risk, and investigations teams
  • Executes financial crime risk governance activities, including reporting, issue identification and remediation tracking, and escalation of significant risks and concerns to management and board-level committees
  • Reviews and challenges risk management frameworks, controls, assessments, and coverage strategies to ensure financial crime and sanctions risks are appropriately addressed
  • Monitors changes in regulations, industry forums, emerging legislation, and political and litigation developments applicable to Global Financial Crimes to identify and mitigate emerging risks

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Global Financial Crimes, Compliance, Operational Risk, or related risk management disciplines
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and related AML legislation, financial crime typologies, and regulatory expectations related to fraud, economic sanctions, and illicit finance risks
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks through threat detection, monitoring, and investigative practices
  • Experience building and leveraging relationships with law enforcement, regulatory, and industry partners to support information sharing and public-private collaboration
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders, government agencies, law enforcement partners, and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends and insights, and communicate recommendations clearly in writing
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment in a dynamic risk environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, and experience leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to support risk management objectives
