Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead strategic finance transformation and financial technology initiatives within a global pharmaceutical organization.

The role will drive complex projects focused on the modernization and transformation of finance processes, operating models, and enterprise systems. Working across Finance, IT, and business functions, the Senior IT Project Manager will ensure technology initiatives support broader strategic finance transformation objectives, including process harmonization, automation, improved financial insights, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic finance transformation and financial technology projects.
  • Translate finance transformation strategies and business objectives into structured IT project roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Drive modernization, standardization, and optimization of global finance processes and supporting technology platforms.
  • Oversee implementation and enhancement of financial systems such as SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Workday, and related enterprise platforms.
  • Coordinate Finance, IT, business, and external partners to define requirements, project scope, and transformation objectives.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, and change management activities.
  • Support finance process transformation across areas such as reporting, planning, controlling, accounting, and financial operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Proven experience delivering Finance Transformation, Finance IT, or financial systems projects.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, operating models, and enterprise technology landscapes.
  • Experience translating strategic finance objectives into technology and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with enterprise financial platforms such as SAP, SAC, Workday, Oracle, or similar solutions.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget management, cost analysis, business cases, and ROI.
  • Experience managing complex global projects involving Finance, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, risk management, and Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another regulated industry is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with global finance transformation, process harmonization, or finance operating model initiatives.
  • Experience with automation, digital finance, analytics, or financial reporting transformation.
  • PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or business process optimization experience.
  • Experience managing multi‑site or global transformation programs and third‑party delivery partners.
