Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Communications, Global (hereafter the "role") is responsible for defining and scaling CooperVision's digital storytelling approach globally. The role translates communications strategy into clear, coherent and impactful digital content and experiences across web, social and search, ensuring consistency, relevance and scalability across markets.
This role focuses on content, narrative and digital experience, rather than campaign execution or performance marketing, which is the focus of regional / in-country digital marketing colleagues.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Digital Storytelling
  • Translate communications strategy into digital storytelling by developing clear narratives, messaging structures and content approaches that guide how CooperVision shows up across digital channels globally.
  • Define global web content strategy by establishing content structures, messaging priorities and user journey principles across a multi-market website ecosystem, ensuring consistency and quality across country domains.
  • Lead global social media strategy by owning corporate social channels (primarily LinkedIn), defining editorial direction, and ensuring a consistent global voice and presence.
  • Define content-led global SEO/GEO/AEO strategy by identifying priority themes, topics and opportunities aligned to how professional and consumer audiences search, and setting guidance for content structure and discoverability.
  • Design audience-led digital experiences by guiding content and journeys that meet the needs of both professional (ECP) and consumer audiences, supporting education and commercial pathways.

Content Frameworks & Governance
  • Establish global content standards and frameworks by creating messaging architectures, content systems and scalable toolkits that can be adopted and localised by in-market teams.
  • Establish digital channel governance by setting principles, standards and guardrails for how content is expressed across web, social and search, and acting as a guardian of the global digital narrative.

Market Enablement & Alignment
  • Enable and align markets by providing clear guidance, frameworks and support to regional and in-market teams, ensuring effective localisation while maintaining global consistency.

Performance & Optimisation
  • Drive insight-led content optimisation by leveraging data and insights to improve content effectiveness, user experience and storytelling clarity, without owning campaign performance.

Innovation & Evolution
  • Monitor emerging digital marketing communications trends including AI-enabled/ cited content and personalisation and integrate relevant approaches into global content frameworks.

Cross-functional Leadership
  • Collaborate across functions and teams by partnering with Global Communications, Brand Marketing, Commercial and Platform teams to ensure alignment and effective delivery of digital content strategies.

Travel:
  • Occasional travel to Global Strategy & Planning meetings or regional / in-market visits.

Qualifications
Experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in digital communications, content strategy or digital marketing
  • Proven experience in a global or regional role within a complex, matrixed organisation
  • Experience in healthcare, regulated or B2B environments preferred

Education:
  • Degree-level education in Business, Marketing or related field
  • A relevant digital marketing or communications qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong expertise in digital content strategy, digital communications or content-led marketing
  • Proven ability to translate complex strategies into clear, engaging digital storytelling
  • Strong understanding of digital ecosystems (web, social, search) from a content and experience perspective
  • Experience designing and scaling content frameworks and messaging architectures
  • Familiarity with content management tools, specifically BrightEdge (SEO and content optimisation), Sprout Social (publishing and optimisation of social content)
  • Understanding of how to use and interpret content performance tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Experience working in global, multi-market environments
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups and influence across functions and regions
  • Experience managing multi-audience strategies (B2B and B2C)
  • Understanding of SEO/GEO/AEO principles and content optimisation approaches
  • Awareness of emerging digital trends and technologies, including AI and their implications for content and communications
  • Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills

Work Environment:
  • Office based - Southampton, UK (The Vision Centre) or Victor, N.Y., US

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $126,032 and $180,046 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
For U.K. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between 73,232-104,617 GBP per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
