Job description

It all started as a "Skunkworks," a small and nimble team tasked with delivering unimaginably great, affordable EVs for all mankind. The UEV platform represents a step-change in efficiency, affordability, and digital experiences. It features an ultra-efficient powertrain and a groundbreaking fully zonal architecture with in-house software controls and ADAS that supports a wide range of vehicle types and battery chemistries. Its design utilizes "unicastings" to reduce weight and complexity, enabling a new, more efficient assembly process. The UEV project is also a valuable laboratory for modernizing Ford's global development systems, from advanced CAD tools to physics-based cost modeling.
As a Global Supply Manager (GSM), you are at the front lines of making Ford's mission a reality.
Our ability to deliver an affordable, world-class EV depends on the speed, precision, and
strategic execution of the supply chain, which starts with you.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:
  • Own end-to-end sourcing strategy for critical spend areas across the UEV platform and follow-on advanced EV programs from sourcing strategy development through SOP, including supplier selection, contracting, and ongoing cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with engineering from concept through launch to align sourcing strategy with technical roadmaps, design freeze milestones, and prototype-to-production transitions. Structure commercial agreements that protect program timing without ceding cost leverage.
  • Build first-principles should-cost models with cross-functional teams to drive a ground-up, physics-based part and system cost perspective. Use these models to set negotiation positions, evaluate quote submissions, and challenge supplier pricing line by line.
  • Lead make-vs-buy analysis to ensure we have a best-in-class supply chain that delivers optimal value.
  • Develop the supply base for resilience. Identify and qualify Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners across geographies; build dual-source and regional capacity strategies that address raw material scarcity, geopolitical risk, and an evolving global trade and tariff environment.
  • Drive automation across the supply chain to deliver best-in-class supply chain efficiency. Partner with suppliers to identify opportunities for process automation and robotics.
  • Shape the tools and processes the ADVEV supply chain runs on, including should-cost methodology, supplier and agreement management systems, and AI-enabled analytics that scale how Ford evaluates suppliers, parts, and agreements.

Qualifications
Global Supply Manager Team Core Values - Our North Star
The Global Supply Management team is guided by a focused set of values that emphasize innovation, accountability, data-driven execution, and collaboration to deliver an industry-defining EV platform.
Mindset & Approach
  • Be Curious - Ask questions, explore alternatives, and challenge assumptions.
  • First Principles Thinking - Break down problems to fundamentals; avoid "we've always done it this way."
  • Data-Driven Decisions - Let evidence, not emotion, guide direction.
  • Saying No is Hard - Prioritize what's right for the program, even when it's uncomfortable.

Execution & Ownership
  • Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) - Own your decisions and outcomes.
  • Deliver Breakthrough Cost & Quality - Partner with PD to exceed traditional standards.
  • Comprehensive Part & Process Expertise - Understand cost, design, and manufacturability.
  • Continuous Improvement - Drive enhancements across the full part lifecycle.
  • Own the Entire Supply Chain - From source to service, take end-to-end responsibility.

Culture & Teamwork
  • Care for One Another - Support your teammates, your program, and our shared mission.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management.
  • Experience bringing creative negotiation skills and out-of-the-box strategy.
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or MBA.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching highly effective supply chains.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team.
  • A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.
  • Eagerness to expand into new commodity areas as the ADVEV portfolio grows.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
