Help shape the story of California almonds and the organization behind them.

Are you a strategic communications leader who knows how to turn complex issues, bold ideas, and meaningful results into compelling stories? Do you thrive advising executives and industry leaders, building organizational reputation, and leading talented teams in a fast-moving global environment?

Look no further! The Almond Board of California (ABC) is seeking an experienced Director of Global Communications to lead our global communications strategy and help tell the story of California almonds and the value and impact of ABCs work. Reporting directly to the President and CEO and serving as a key member of the executive team, this leader will shape ABCs enterprise narrative, strengthen engagement with industry stakeholders, and ensure our communications are clear, credible, compelling, and measurable. This is an exempt, executive level position located at our headquarters in Modesto, CA.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead ABC's integrated global communications strategy and enterprise narrative.
  • Advise executive leadership on reputation, executive communications, and strategic positioning.
  • Translate complex research, industry issues, and organizational priorities into compelling communications.
  • Strengthen engagement with growers, handlers, Board members, industry stakeholders, media, and partners.
  • Oversee executive communications, crisis communications, media relations, and digital communications, including SEO, GEO, AIO, and social strategy.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications team while measuring and improving communications effectiveness.

What youll bring:

  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience in issues/crisis management, communications program oversight, and media relations; including at least five years in a management capacity leading teams.
  • Expertise in strategic communications, executive communications, media relations, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional writing, executive presence, business acumen, and strategic thinking.
  • Experience developing enterprise narratives and communicating organizational value and impact.
  • Experience in agriculture, food, commodity organizations, or similarly complex stakeholder-driven industries is strongly preferred.
