Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Gates Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Global Product Line Manager, Engine Metals in our Rochester Hills, MI, or Denver, CO office. This role will help drive the global strategy and financial performance of the Engine Metals product portfolio and is seen as a critical contributor to product line planning, execution, and commercialization, supporting profitable growth across regions while ensuring strong alignment between global strategy and regional needs. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, GPLM for Engine Metals and Water Pumps, this role owns defined portions of the portfolio and leads key strategic, financial, and commercialization initiatives that enable growth, margin expansion, and improved portfolio health.ย You will partner closely with Regional Product Line Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Technical Development to ensure effective execution of product line priorities globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, maintenance, and execution of the global Engine Metals product line strategy and roadmap in alignment with the MultiGenerational Product Plan (MGPP).
  • Own defined segments, platforms, or initiatives within the Engine Metals portfolio, ensuring consistency in positioning, coverage, and value proposition across regions.
  • Translate global strategy into actionable initiatives, tools, and plans for regional teams.
  • Help drive achievement of global revenue, margin, and profitability targets for the Engine Metals product line.
  • Support pricing strategy development, portfolio cost management, and productivity initiatives that improve product line financial health.
  • Develop, present, own, and action the global product line strategies - including defining the product road map, key global strategic initiatives, cost out initiatives, and overall growth plans for the product line.ย  Define the growth elements to the Long Range Financial Forecast (LRFF) to ensure the required capacity and investments are made in the right locations to enable the targeted growth.ย 
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the Engine Metals market, including applications, customer needs, competitive landscapes, and technology trends.
  • Maintain competitor benchmarking and portfolio analyses to identify growth opportunities and portfolio gaps.
  • Support portfolio rationalization, coverage expansion, and costout initiatives to improve competitiveness.
  • Support scoping, business case development, and prioritization of new product development initiatives.
  • Lead or colead product commercialization efforts, including value propositions, positioning, launch materials, and sales enablement tools.
  • Work with regional teams to track launch effectiveness and adoption KPIs.
  • Act as a key liaison between global strategy and regional execution teams.
  • Provide insights, data, tools, and training materials to support regional product managers and commercial teams.
  • Assist with evaluation of inorganic growth opportunities, including market assessments, portfolio overlap analysis, and synergy identification.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing from an accredited institution required;
  • Minimum of 8 years of marketing, product management, outside field sales, application engineering and/or product engineering or business development experience
  • Experience in Engine Metals, power transmission, engine components, or adjacent industrial/automotive markets preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for sales data analysis and graphing trends
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills to deliver high quality executive-ready presentations
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Relocation is not provided
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits beginย onย the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
