Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks contributing to the efficient operation of our facilities. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.


Reporting:

Reports to the Maintenance Manager who is a direct report to the General Manager. 


Scheduling:

May require weekend work on one weekend day. If more than one weekend day is required advance notice will be given. Standard week is 40 hours. 

Overtime may be required, and notice will be provided when possible. 

Work schedule starts at 7am daily and ends at 3:30pm and can be altered from time to time. 


Duties:

- Conduct routine daily inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or malfunctions.

- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on guest rooms following the Preventive Maintenance Plan as well as machinery, equipment, and systems located throughout the property.

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.

- Support Maintenance Manager with contractors involving repairs or installations.

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and address any issues in a timely manner and coordinate work with both the reception desk and housekeeping teams. 

- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping.

- Provide excellent customer service to Guests, Visitors and Internal Stakeholders.

- Perform maintenance related tasks assigned by the Maintenance Department Manager. 

- Perform landscaping duties as needed such as mowing with a zero turn, mowing with a push mower, lawn trimming, tree trimming and maintaining plant beds. 

- Prepare the hotel grounds for the winter season and assist with shoveling and keeping entries clear in the winter months. 

- Clean up the hotel grounds in the spring to prepare for the busy season. 

- Assist Firelight camps as needed or assigned by the Maintenance Manager. 

- To perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or the General Manager, or the Assistant General Manager when necessary.
