What are giraffes?

Giraffes are large, long-necked mammals native to Africa, known for being the tallest land animals in the world. They are part of the species Giraffa camelopardalis and are easily recognized by their spotted coats, long legs, and exceptionally long necks. Giraffes primarily feed on leaves from tall trees, especially acacias, using their height to reach foliage that other herbivores cannot. They live in savannas and open woodlands and are social animals, often found in loosely organized groups. Their unique physiology and gentle demeanor make them a favorite among wildlife enthusiasts and researchers.
