Night Shift - 36/48's, 13wks.

"Unit Bed Count: 15 Staffing:

Days: 1 UA, 1-2 Surgical Techs, 1 Lead RN, 1-2 Triage Rn’s, Minimum 2 bedside Rn’s(Usually 4-6 bedside, depends on census/acuity)

Nights: Same as Days

Weekends: Same as days and nights on weekends

Call Required? Required for surgical technicians only open to manager discretion

Floating to other units Required? L&D only floats to NICU and PP

Weekend Coverage Required? FT staff 6 weekends every 6 week schedule, PT 3, and PD 1.

Medication System: Pyxis

EMR System: Cerner

Pharmacy Hours: 24/7

Phlebotomy available? 24/7

Unit Secretary on Unit: If yes, please clarify hours: 24/7 24/7 OB Laborist

Special Equipment Used on This Unit: Fetalink, Novii wireless monitoring, peanut balls, birthing balls, squat bar, labor beds and labor gurney’s, level 1 blood transfuser, Enseal, Infant Giraffe Warmers, Bedside Ultrasound Machine, 2 Surgical Tables, 2 anesthesia machines, 3 PPH carts, 2 Neptunes, 1 MH cart,

Special Procedures Performed on This Unit: Cesarean Sections primarily, occasionally D&C, hysterectomy, vaginal repair.

Scrubs: Hospital scrubs are provided.

Job Summary:

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.

Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred

Acute care facility experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications:AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required

Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required

AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS: Required

Essential Functions:

Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient?s health or situation.

Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.

Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.

Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.

Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.

Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.

Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.

Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.

Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care.

Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
