Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS
We are seeking a Gift Shop Associate, also referred to as a Gift Shop Clerk, Gift Shop Sales Associate or Volunteer Services Coordinator. The Gift Shop Associate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gift Shop and Volunteer Services, including ordering supplies, managing inventory, pricing merchandise, restocking displays, and handling sales reporting and vendor invoicing. The Gift Shop Associate will develop volunteer policies and programs, consult with hospital leadership on volunteer management, and recruits, trains, supervises, and dismisses volunteers to meet hospital needs. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff by providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
  • Sell gifts, flowers, snacks, and other items, handling cash and electronic payments accurately
  • Restock merchandise, arranges displays, and ensures the shop is clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Provide information about hospital services and volunteer opportunities when appropriate
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and pricing new stock
  • Support fundraising efforts by promoting special sales, gift wrapping, and other volunteer-run initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the hospital environment and patient needs
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Services to enhance visitor experience and support hospital community engagement

Qualifications
  • Prefer one year of retail sales experience
