Magee - Women's Hospital of UPMC is hiring a Full Time Flex Gift Shop Employee

This position will work daylight shifts ranging from 28-40 hours a week.

Purpose:
Responsible for providing service to visitors, patients and employees in the Garden View Gift Shop.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
  • Deliver gift items to patient rooms as directed by the manager.
  • Operate cash register and substantiates all over rings and voids as directed by the manager.
  • Stock and clean giftware shelves, jewelry cases, baby shop and related areas. Stock magazines, cards and toy shelves. Report low stock levels to manager.
  • Greet and assist customers in the boutique, baby and gift areas of the shop. Offer gift-wrap service as appropriate.
  • Log in receipt of merchandise, ticket/tags, stores, as directed.
  • Balance daily receipts, brings deposits to the cashier window and obtains receipt for manager.

Reading and arithmetic ability necessary to maintain stock ledgers and balance and operate a cash register normally acquired through completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to effectively service patrons, stock inventory and understand shop operations normally acquired through one to three months on the job training. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with patrons of the Gift Shop. Ability to operate a cash register and make correct change.
