A Gift Processing job involves handling and recording donations for organizations, typically nonprofits or educational institutions. Responsibilities include entering donor information into databases, issuing receipts, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. This role also involves working with fundraising teams to track contributions and support donor stewardship. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of financial or CRM systems are often required.
A typical day for a Gift Processing professional involves accurately entering and verifying donation data, generating acknowledgments or receipts, and collaborating with fundraising and finance teams to ensure proper allocation of funds. You may also be responsible for reconciling donations, troubleshooting discrepancies, and updating donor records to keep databases current. The role often includes responding to donor inquiries and assisting with special campaigns or fundraising events. Working in this position, you’ll develop strong problem-solving skills and play a critical part in maintaining donor trust and supporting an organization’s overall mission.
