Job description

We are seeking an associate attorney with two years of experience in business immigration, including the preparation and filing of nonimmigrant visa petitions for corporate clients. You will be working with a talented group of immigration attorneys in the New York office of our close-knit, full-service commercial law firm. Initially, duties will be focused on the assessment of nonimmigrant visa options and strategies and advisory work, but will also eventually involve a full range of diverse nonimmigrant, PERM and immigrant matters with access to a growing and exciting roster of clients. If you are a self-starter with a keen sense of responsibility, and you work effectively in groups, going the extra mile to help your colleagues, while also marketing and developing yourself professionally, your career progression will be complemented at Gibney by a collegial work environment, a competitive compensation package, and other benefits.

  • Approximately 2 years of experience in drafting all phases of the Nonimmigrant Petition process (including H-1B, L-1, TN and E-3).  Entry-level attorneys with prior business immigration experience in a paralegal capacity will be considered as well.
  • Business immigration experience with IV processes and applications (including PERM, I-140, AOS) preferred.
  • Strong academic background and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service and building trusted relationships with corporate clients and colleagues.
  • Strong initiative and a solutions-oriented approach to client service, with the ability to identify issues, anticipate needs, and drive matters forward.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in staying current with evolving immigration laws, regulations, policies, and industry trends.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in contributing to practice growth and business development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Hybrid position with New York Office presence
