Job description

Part Time Wine and Spirits Cashier

Must be 18+ years old

Starting at $17.25/ hr 

 

 

Position Description: Stew Leonard’s Wines of Norwalk, CT offers the best selection of wine and spirits at amazing prices. Customers love shopping at Stew Leonard’s Wines. As a Wine Cashier, you will make sure the check-out process is friendly, smooth, and efficient. Making the last impression on the customer before they exit the store.   

 

Your day-to-day: Your day will be full of variety, from the types of customers shopping to the pace of the work, to the types of tasks that need to be handled. Cashiers are the backbone of the store, they are the first to see the customers walk in, and the last to see them before they leave. Cashiers greet customers as they walk in and can make sure that every shopping experience ends on a positive note. Cashiers are also tapped to help take care of other miscellaneous tasks needed for the store- you might be curling ribbon one minute and making a gift basket the next.

 

What you bring to the team: A caring and kind attitude recognizing that the reputation of the company lies within the palm of your hand. Efficiency and a knack for detail, especially when it comes to handling money.  You should be neat and organized and have basic math skills. You must be at least 18 years old.

Working Conditions: The wine store is a retail environment with a sales floor, front end, office space, break room, and warehouse. Every team member interacts with all areas of the store. The front end of the store is where the cashiers call “home”. The front end is made up of register booths, telephones, and easy to learn cashiering equipment. You will have to lift, push and/ or pull up to 40 pounds and may have to stoop or bend at times.
