Job Summary:
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and uptime of production and facility equipment through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs. The role leads maintenance operations across production and process support equipment while ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained work environment. This position also supports regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness in alignment with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and skilled in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain production equipment: CNC and manual machine tools.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
  • Provide sound technical support to ensure production equipment is in a constant state of readiness.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) to maintain safety and increase up-time of equipment.
  • Determine spare parts requirements and make recommendations for equipment.
  • Work on process support equipment improvement projects.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC`s repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance functions.
  • Document all corrective and preventive maintenance performed utilizing a pc based tracking system/software.
  • Participate and contribute in a team environment by working with all levels of employees.
  • Generate new and innovative approaches to problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and building regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, local fire codes).
  • Maintain required safety documentation, permits, and regulatory filings.
  • Liaise with NA Compliance leader to support regulatory agencies and manage external inspections or audits.

Risk Management & Prevention
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments related to equipment
  • Follow and promote safe work practices during all maintenance activities

Emergency Preparedness
  • Coordinate drills (fire, severe weather, workplace violence response, etc.) and collaborate with security and emergency services.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in workplace safety or facilities safety.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience maintaining and servicing CNC and manual machine tools
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certification or college degree in maintenance technology with focus on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC repairs a plus
  • Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs for production equipment
  • Experience with OSHA regulations, including but not limited to lock out/tag out and machine guarding
  • Experience operating forklift trucks
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and building safety codes.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and Power point.

Preferred
  • Experience with ISO 45001 or similar safety management systems.
  • Background in manufacturing, warehousing, or multi-site facility operations.
  • Ability to work to a deadline and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence others through the employment of sound judgment.
  • Self-motivation, strong attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
