Geriatric Nursing Assistant- (PRN)
Location: Laurel, MD, 20707
Employment Type: PRN
Pay Rate: $12 - $16/hr; (Negotiable based on experience)  
Shift: Day | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Position Summary:

    The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides direct patient care and support to elderly residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The GNA assists residents with daily living activities, monitors their health status, and ensures a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist residents with personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
    • Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
    • Maintain residents’ comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
    • Report any changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to the supervising nurse promptly.
    • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
    • Ensure cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and care areas.
    • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
      • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
      • Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
