In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyze and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Country Risk in New York, New York to develop the data and reporting strategy for new frameworks to measure and control country risk amid rising geopolitical risk and uncertainties. Work with colleagues in the central reporting teams, risk stripes, business units, Finance and Information Technology, as providers of the data, to align on the data delivery and reporting strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional groups using Agile methodology and practices to design a cohesive country risk data reporting infrastructure, including data hierarchy, data engine processes, and reporting system integration. Identify opportunities for leveraging data and technologies to deliver business insights. Ensure the effective and timely execution of the agreed strategy. Ensure overall data quality. Develop workflow tooling and infrastructure strategies and drive execution to mitigate risks around data delays and data quality issues. Identify potential data quality issues and strategize forward-looking solutions. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) days a week.

What you'll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field of study

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Director, Application Development Analyst, or a related role

-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Developing and implementing data and reporting strategies to meet business and regulatory data requirements;
  • Conceptualizing and implementing Risk and Finance portfolio data and reporting solutions;
  • Handling complex data requirements to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability;
  • Planning roles, dependencies, risks and issues in the delivery of scalable data and reporting solutions;
  • Managing multiple projects and collaborating across business units to develop realistic and executable project plans and deliver data solutions;
  • Utilizing Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense, for developing dashboards and visualizations;
  • Utilizing object-oriented programming and scripting languages, including SQL and VBA;
  • Utilizing MSSQL, and MS Access relational databases and data workflow optimization.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $149,875 and $149,875 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
