Job description

Job Description BAE Systems is developing advanced Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems in support of the Electronic Warfare (EW) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) business areas. These systems are installed across a wide variety of platforms and serve multiple purposes such as situational awareness and intelligence gathering which generally requires precision direction finding (DF) and geolocation of emitters. The Direction Finding and Geolocation Capability Group is a cross-functional multi-disciplinary team which provides engineering talent, technical expertise, and new technology and research to the BAE Systems Electronic Systems Defense Sector. The Direction Finding and Geolocation Capability Group is looking for an experienced engineer to work as part of a high impact, technically oriented team developing and integrating algorithms to DF and geolocate radar and communication signals. The work will include individual technical contributions on a related range of programs and internal research projects involving simulation, design, development, test, documentation, and deployment of signal processing algorithms for radiolocation. Technical Responsibilities:
This position will involve leadership opportunities in this expanding high technology group developing new and enhanced location techniques. The candidate will be expected to lead a small group and/or be a contributor on a given program or group of programs containing DF/Geo, RF, and antenna array content. Develop detailed technical computer simulations for complex algorithms and array signal processing. The work will involve contributing to group initiatives such as internal research and development, providing innovation and experience to solve complex engineering problems, simulation tool development as well as guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers and other program personnel. Other Responsibilities:
Prepare and present technical presentations to peers and internal customers. Support business development efforts. Generate novel ideas and contribute to proposal efforts. This position is primarily full-time onsite with some flexibility for hybrid options available. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science/Computer Engineering with a minimum work experience of: * 8+ Years with BS * 6+ Years with MS * 4+ Year with PHD * Possess an Active US Government security clearance * Expertise in documenting and communicating - leading and working within a team on design, development, analysis, test, results, reports, and presentations. * Technical skills/experience in one or more of these areas: modeling and simulation, signal processing, direction finding, array calibration, geolocation, data association, Kalman filtering, tracking, statistics, and computational electromagnetic modeling or related domains. * Required skills include an understands of radar, EW and/or SIGINT system principles and operation. This may include antenna and array topology, interferometry, beamforming, TDOA, FDOA, communication signals, radar signals, RF propagation, RF link analysis, co-site and co-channel interference. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering * Experience with system resource management. * Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management. * Experience with advanced antenna technologies and ability to model antenna impacts on received and transmitted signals. * Model based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw. * Strong computer skills for modeling, simulation, analysis, data reduction, and visualization as well as preparing appropriate reports and technical documents: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project/Visio, etc.... * Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral presentation skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, internal and external customers, suppliers, and other performers. * Ability to work independently in an engineering development environment. Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
