Job description

Overview

Provides comprehensive clinical genetic counseling and leads the integration of genetic testing into patient care. This role guides appropriate testing strategies in alignment with ACMG/NSGC and NCCN guidelines and collaborates with high-quality genetic testing laboratories to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for establishing and expanding genetic counseling services at WakeMed, including identifying patients at risk for hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes through participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards. Additionally, this role builds strong collaborative relationships across clinical teams to support program growth, enhance care delivery, and advance precision medicine initiatives throughout the health system.
