Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our Turbine and Generator Specialty Services team as a Seasonal Field Engineer - Generator Services and take the lead in delivering exceptional field engineering oversight on generator projects across North America – and beyond! You’ll supervise crews, perform inspections, conduct testing, and communicate with customers at every stage of the process. In this role, you will be the go-to expert ensuring safety, quality, and precision in every task, whether you’re in the field repairing, installing, or troubleshooting complex generator systems. Your work will directly support global customers, helping drive innovation and reliability in energy production!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and guide teams of field service engineers, technicians, and craft labor at customer sites, ensuring smooth installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of generators.
  • Perform specialized electrical and mechanical testing – both low and high voltage – to diagnose issues and ensure optimal functioning.
  • Coordinate and manage project staffing to align with site requirements, timelines, and safety standards.
  • Share deep generator and interface expertise with management teams, customers, and suppliers to support decision-making and technical excellence.
  • Guarantee that all work follows approved processes, maintaining top-tier safety and quality standards.
  • Deliver clear, detailed reports with conditions, repairs, and recommendations for customer equipment.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2+ years’ experience in field service OR a combination of experience and transferable skills and accomplishments.
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time. (Typical travel is 200-250 days per year for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time; While deployed, expect extended working hours of up to 12-14 hours per day including weekends/holidays, 6 – 7 days per week.).

  • You can: ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, position yourself to examine equipment including in confined spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances and share cramped office trailer with other employees.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
