Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer. This is a dynamic, travel-intensive role deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting advanced optical networking equipment and fiber optic cabling at customer sites nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and integrate packet-optical network equipment in the factory and field
- Perform Fiber Optic Characterization analysis and network test & turn-up
- Execute network migrations and comprehensive testing on complex optical networks
- Act as Deployment Lead, organizing and planning successful field deployments
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshoot long haul, metro, and regional optical networks
- Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
- Collaborate with internal and external project teams to identify and address risks and execute per the Statement of Work
Required Skills
- Telecom experience required;
- 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience
- Willingness to travel up to 75%
- Knowledge of provisioning on optical platforms such as Ciena 6500/RSP, Nokia 1830/IPD, and Infinera XTM/GX
- Proficiency in Office 365
