Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Generator Service Order Engineering Manager, you are responsible for establishing dedicated leadership for the technical execution of generator service orders at the Siemens Energy Charlotte Campus. You lead a team of experienced service engineering professionals, ensuring the release of accurate and complete product definitions on time and within budget while promoting a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Your day includes overseeing resource allocation, budgeting, and forecasting for generator service orders, while providing technical and professional guidance to your team. You also lead the technical review and fulfillment of customer orders for generator services, ensuring engineering specifications and project requirements are met.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you monitor project progress, proactively resolve technical challenges, manage project risks, and support on-time delivery. As the primary escalation point for technical issues related to generator service orders, you help drive successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across engineering workflows.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced service engineering professionals by setting performance objectives and providing technical and professional guidance.
  • Ensure the release of accurate and complete product definitions on time and within budget to support successful generator service order execution.
  • Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and forecasting activities for service engineering projects.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Lead the technical review and fulfillment of customer orders for generator services, ensuring engineering specifications and project requirements are met.
  • Monitor project progress against established plans, proactively identifying and resolving challenges, managing risks, and supporting on-time delivery.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within project workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues related to generator service orders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful execution of generator service orders and achieve business and customer objectives.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably supporting large rotating equipment, generators, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or management capacity, responsible for directing the work of engineers or other technical professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and the engineering design process.
  • Experience leading technical project execution, including managing project schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Ability to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of engineering deliverables while meeting project timelines and budgets.
  • Strong team-building, collaboration, and stakeholder influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive successful outcomes.
  • Commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction in a service-oriented engineering environment.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
