Generator Technical Support Manager

Role Overview
The Generator Technical Services Manager (TSM) provides comprehensive technical leadership and support for the Generator Services Business, including both field and shop operations.
This role is responsible for coordinating Generator product line support needs, including outage forecasting, vendor repairs, parts manufacturing requirements, and the training and development of direct reports.
The TSM drives operational excellence by enhancing processes, improving work packages, strengthening personnel capability, and ensuring all assigned KPIs are achieved. This position also carries financial responsibility for the Generator repairs business across internal and external customer relationships, as well as associated Mitsubishi Power America business units.
Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% overnight travel (domestic and/or international).
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate core leadership competencies: action-oriented, change champion, customer-focused, ownership mindset, and talent development.
  • Develop and coordinate technical cooperation agreements and partnerships with Generator service providers.
  • Provide oversight and direction for Field Service outage projects under Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) and non-LTSA contracts.
  • Establish and maintain standard procedures for Generator Services contract execution.
  • Support organizational resource development, tooling forecasts, vendor qualification, and business readiness initiatives.
  • Provide technical response and resolution support for Field NCRs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to forecast future service needs and manage CRM inputs.
  • Present Generator Service technical updates at user group meetings.
  • Review and approve Generator scope-of-work cost estimates.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in generator design, operation, diagnostics, testing, or service.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and passport required.
