Your Impact in This Role

This is a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated physician to become part of a thriving, respected practice, backed by a strong referral network and the extensive resources of a comprehensive health system.

  • Collaborate with an established team of three physicians and 24/7 APP trauma support.
  • Call structure: Home call every 3 to 4 weeks (no in-house call).
  • Practice environment: A mix of inpatient and outpatient care at a single location.
  • Access to experienced pediatric support (including a first assistant) for after-hours cases, excellent weekday RN clinic assistance, and an integrated EMR system (Athena and Sunrise).
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system.
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric General Surgery.
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.
  • Provide comprehensive surgical care for general, thoracic, ECMO, and pediatric trauma cases while actively contributing to the development of the surgical program.
  • Engage in teaching, mentoring, and supervising general surgery residents, medical students, and new graduate surgeons in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric General Surgery is required.

  • 197-bed pediatric facility, including 40 private inpatient beds, 8 short-stay beds, 23 PICU beds, 17 Pediatric ED beds, and a 109-bed Level IV NICU.
  • Verified Level One Children’s Surgery (CSV) and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
  • Serving a population of around 2 million in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area.
  • Integrated referral network comprising over 3,000 physicians across 22 ministries.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed by the Indiana Medical Licensing Board, obtained prior to the hire or transfer date.
  • Advanced Life Support certification preferred; accepted from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) is required.
