Bistro Don Giovanni is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our restaurant, management team, and day-to-day operations.

Since 1993, Bistro Don Giovanni has been a Napa Valley dining destination known for seasonal Italian cuisine, wood-fired cooking, exceptional hospitality, and a commitment to quality. We are seeking a hospitality-driven leader who can uphold our standards, support our team, and guide the continued success of one of Napa Valley's most established independent restaurants.

About the Role

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operation of the restaurant. This position provides direction and support to managers and team members while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, financial accountability, and compliance with company policies and standards. The role requires a strong understanding of high-volume restaurant operations and elevated hospitality standards.

In addition to providing service leadership, the General Manager is responsible for maintaining operational consistency, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.

The ideal candidate is a visible and engaged leader who leads by example, exercises sound judgment, and understands how to balance guest satisfaction, employee development, operational needs, and business objectives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $100,000-$125,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated leadership ability.

Beginning June 1, 2026, eligible managers may participate in a comprehensive benefits program that includes:

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of restaurant management experience, including experience supervising managers, supervisors, or team members.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams and operations in a high-volume, full-service restaurant with elevated hospitality and service standards.

  • Commitment to hospitality and guest service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a full-service restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality service standards.
  • Experience supporting food and beverage programs in a full-service restaurant environment.
  • Experience with restaurant reservation, scheduling, and point-of-sale systems.

  • Experience managing labor, financial performance, and operational budgets.

Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time management position that requires flexibility to meet the needs of the business. Candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Sunday availability is required.

Bistro Don Giovanni is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Outside of those closures, managers should expect to work during peak business periods and holiday seasons as needed.
