General Manager

Our client is seeking a General Manager to lead and optimize an established, multi-department residential homebuilding organization as it moves into its next phase of growth. This executive-level role is responsible for aligning operations, enhancing accountability, improving efficiency, and supporting strategic expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced operational leader with strong residential construction background, capable of managing complex teams and driving consistent execution across all areas of the business.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Oversee daily operations across all departments including construction, preconstruction, estimating, drafting, client experience, warranty, finance, and sales support
  • Align cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of priorities, standards, and goals
  • Set and maintain KPIs, reporting systems, and accountability frameworks across the organization
  • Improve operational efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and strengthening coordination between departments
  • Manage construction operations with focus on scheduling, trade performance, and build-cycle efficiency
  • Ensure alignment between construction delivery, financial results, job costing, and customer experience
  • Partner with finance and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and profitability
  • Support strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives to scale the business
Your strengths include:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in residential construction or homebuilding environments
  • Proven ability to lead multi-department operational teams within established organizations
  • Strong understanding of residential construction operations, production scheduling, trade management, and workflow systems
  • Experience with financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, and operational performance tracking
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead through structure, clarity, and influence
  • Excellent communication and organizational alignment skills across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Systems-oriented mindset with strong discipline in process improvement and operational execution
  • Experience managing organizations with 30+ employees and multiple leadership layers is highly preferred
  • Exposure to KPI frameworks, operational scorecards, EOS, or Lean systems is an asset
