Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Plan, manage and oversee all aspects of the Finished Goods distribution and warehousing activities for rapidly growing company while maintaining consistent service and customer focus. Provide technical and administrative leadership to all levels of warehouse personnel. Develop and modify budgets as required. Manage the computerized finished goods inventory system.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Essential Duties
  • Strategically manage Warehouse in compliance with Company policy and vision
  • Oversee Warehouse Operations including freight, returns, receiving and safety
  • Lead and develop Warehouse team to maintain high levels of accuracy and deliver unparalleled customer service
  • Actively review forecast tools and relevant reports to plan the operational staffing and equipment needs
  • Monitor short and long-term forecasting models to ensure cohesiveness with the budget and operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to secure optimal operational results
  • Responsible for increasing operational efficiency to reduce cost and improve productivity by applying knowledge of operational processes within the unit
  • Clearly communicate goals and results for the unit with the operational teams
  • Develop productivity standards to measure individual performance for a wide range of distribution activities including product receipt, pick and pack for LTL and truckload requirements
  • Develop standards to measure individual quality performance.
  • Work with procurement in developing a Pallet plan
  • Responsible for maintaining finished good inventory accuracy at approved KPI level
  • Professionally communicate with all departs as required: customer service, manufacturing, quality control, inventory management, human resources, contract packaging, etc.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but will consider education and experience

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years experience in warehousing. Must have proven supervisory ability

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Various forklift trucks, computers, general office equipment, and related programs. Ability to learn the use of SAP as it relates to the inventory job function.
License(s)/Certification(s): Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification.

Work Environment:
This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Workers will be exposed to ambient noise levels in an office and warehouse environment. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies. Workers are exposed to physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts. Workers are occasionally exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes. Warehouse conditions include temperatures ranging from the 30's (typically 40 F degrees in cold weather conditions, with appropriate clothing provided) to the 90's F (in hot weather conditions). Estimate time exposure to warehouse condition is 30%.
Physical Demands / Visual Acuity: Sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, talking, hearing. Occasionally lifting pallets up to 60 lbs. by hand, stacking finished good cases on a pallet up to 60 lbs. / case by hand, replacing stretch film into the automatic wrapper up to 30 lbs. by hand, and moving pallets of products weighing up to 2000 lbs. with a forklift. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less with the ability to judge distance and space relationships and bring objects into sharp focus. Requires continuous visual and mental attention.
