Job Title: General Foreman

Position Overview/Description: The General Foreman plays a critical role in our stormwater construction and maintenance processes by overseeing daily operations at multiple locations, and multiple crews. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision: Lead and manage multiple onsite construction teams, including subcontractors and tradespeople, to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Scheduling: Plan and coordinate daily activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to maintain project timelines.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets or exceeds the standards set by the project specifications.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and address any hazards or violations promptly.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and usage of staffing, materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring no shortages or wastage.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve any disputes or issues that arise onsite promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, incidents, and daily reports.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction procedures, operation of basic machinery and equipment (trucks/trailers, excavators, skid steers, concrete saws, chainsaws, mowers, weed eaters), and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Excellent organizational and problemsolving abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, OSHA, Confined Space) are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including some Saturdays, depending on project requirements.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the construction site for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting and ability to carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
  • Manual dexterity and handeye coordination necessary to operate tools and equipment.
  • Good visual and auditory abilities to ensure safety and compliance onsite.
