General Foreman
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a General Foreman that will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing foreman and craft team members based on the project schedule and state and federal requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workers
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
  • Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job
  • Analyze and resolve work problems
  • Maintain time records
  • Make cost estimates for contracts
  • Use logical step-by-step procedures in work
  • Plan work and solve problems
  • Make decisions based on measurable information
  • Operate machinery as needed
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience
  • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, ability to work according to detailed, standard instructions and well-defined, established procedures
  • Ability to determine work method from alternatives, work under broad assignments, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
