Job description

Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As the Senior Security Specialist, you’ll coordinate and perform routine to intermediate security tasks to ensure compliance with contractual, program and security requirements. This will include participating in the administration and coordination of one or more security programs/activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures, conducting security briefings and maintaining security education programs. Additionally, we will rely on you to partner with various government agencies to ensure corporation is compliant with directives and regulations and obtains rulings, interpretations and deviations, as appropriate. 

This position is critical for maintaining our company's ability to perform on classified government contracts and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

  • Regulatory and Contractual Mandate: As an entity with a Facility Clearance (FCL), we are required by 32 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 117, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule; Department of War (DoW) Special Access Program (SAP) Manuals; and customer directives to appoint qualified individuals to specific security roles.
  • Key Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this the Senior Security Specialist will perform essential, day-to-day security tasks mandated by NISPOM, SAP Manuals, and Customer Directives, including:
    • Provide day-to-day security oversight in the Marion facility where Special Access Program (SAP) work is conducted.
    • Coordinate SAP security matters including personnel vetting issues and security incidents with the government and prime security representatives.
    • Implement and execute all SAP security requirements outlined in the SAP Manuals, as well as any additional guidance issued by the customer security director.
    • Conduct annual self-inspections and document any necessary corrective action plans.
    • Establish, conduct, and document initial, situational, and annual refresher training for all assigned SAP-accessed individuals.
    • Develop, maintain, and submit program protection implementation plans to the customer for endorsement annually.
    • Work with the Program Manager to create a secure environment to protect SAP information in each SAP facility (SAPF) in the Marion facility.

What you bring to the table:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field or the equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; or Master's degree. General Dynamics experience strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of all security policies and procedures and ability to interpret security requirements and apply them consistently across diverse situations
  • Solid knowledge of all general functions and substantial understanding of policies and procedures to include the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual Supplement (NISPOMSUP), National Security Agency (NSA) Industrial COMSEC Manual, 90-1, specific Program Security Directives (PSD)
