The Opportunity

The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout while serving as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Success in this role requires more than technical expertise. It requires leadership, communication, accountability, and the ability to proactively solve problems while delivering an exceptional client experience.


What You'll DoProject Leadership
  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.

  • Partner closely with Superintendents to drive successful field execution.

  • Conduct and lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.

  • Monitor project quality, safety, schedule, and overall performance.

Financial & Contract Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.

  • Oversee subcontractor buyout and contract administration.

  • Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.

  • Manage owner billings and financial reporting.

  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and long-lead items.

Project Coordination
  • Review construction documents for constructability and scheduling impacts.

  • Collaborate with Estimating during budgeting and project buyout.

  • Coordinate municipal inspections, testing, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain complete project documentation and closeout requirements.

  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Client & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and trade partners.

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout each project.

  • Promote repeat business through exceptional communication and project execution.

  • Represent ECI with professionalism and integrity at every stage of the project.

QualificationsRequired
  • 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Project Manager with a General Contractor preferred.

  • Experience managing ground-up and tenant improvement commercial construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, project controls, and contract administration.

  • Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with:

    • Procore

    • Microsoft Project

    • Bluebeam

    • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • Established relationships within the Texas commercial construction market.

  • Experience with value engineering and preconstruction planning.
