Powerstaff is partnering with a respected commercial General Contractor in Orange County, California to identify a highly capable Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance across Retail, Healthcare, and other commercial projects.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, coordinating labor, equipment, subcontractors, and material suppliers
• Lead pre-job planning and organize pre-job turnover meetings with internal teams and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor critical path milestones, and adjust plans as needed
• Establish project budgets, manage cost codes, and proactively identify cost or schedule risks
• Administer contracts, prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, and manage change orders for owners and trade partners
• Ensure all subcontractors and superintendents understand project requirements and contractual obligations
• Maintain positive working relationships with owners, subcontractors, and vendors, resolving issues as they arise
• Monitor material procurement, verify vendor invoices, and support timely billing and project reporting
• Provide oversight, mentorship, and training to Project Engineers assigned to the project
• Coordinate project close-out activities, including final cost and labor reconciliation and reporting to estimating and management teams
ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT?
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of commercial construction project management experience, preferably on ground-up projects
• Strong knowledge of field operations, budget management, scheduling, and estimating, good understanding of financial project responsibility
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders
• High level of analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office suite
Retail or Healthcare Projects will be well regarded but not essential
