Since 1974, Shermco has become North America’s largest and fastest growing NETA-accredited electrical testing organization. Our focus is to make sure electrical power systems are functioning properly and safely. Additionally, our Professional Engineering Group, Rotating Machinery Division, Renewable Energy Services, and Field Repair and local Repair Service Centers, places Shermco in a position to handle all things electrical, all done with an emphasis on safety and client service.

Summary:

Shermco Industries is seeking a Director of Key accounts to manage and grow strategic, high-value client relationships (ABB, Siemens, GE Vernova, Hitachi), acting as a senior advisor to C-suite executives, developing long-term account strategies, driving revenue growth, and coordinating internal teams (sales, marketing, operations, engineering) to ensure client satisfaction and exceed targets. With a focus on building executive-level trust, identifying expansion opportunities (upselling/cross-selling), negotiating complex deals, providing market insights, and delivering accurate forecasts and performance reports.

Ideally you will reside in NC or TX (Houston) but we will consider other US locations. Travel is 50%.

Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong, executive-level relationships with key accounts, serving as the primary contact.
  • Strategic Planning:Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to foster growth, retention, and deeper penetration.
  • Business Development:Identify and pursue new opportunities within existing accounts, leading to increased revenue.
  • Cross-functional Leadership:Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, support) to deliver solutions and meet client needs.
  • Negotiation & Sales:Lead complex sales cycles, negotiate large multi-year agreements, and manage legal/business risks.
  • Forecasting & Reporting:Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and insights to senior management.
  • Problem Solving:Proactively address complex client issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Market Expertise:Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to provide strategic advice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering
  • Experience selling electrical/power distribution or engineering services or products or related
  • Experience from or selling directly to ABB, Hitachi, Siemens or GE Vernova
  • Ability to lead teams and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong ability to see the big picture and develop long-term plans.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, especially with senior executives.
  • Proven track record in technical aptitude, strategy, and negotiation.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and presentation tools.
