Gate Manager Position

2026-2027 School Year

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Gate Manager is the friendly face responsible for running the admission gates and ticketing setup during home athletic events at both Carrollton High School and Middle School. They play an important role in representing the athletic department, making sure everything runs smoothly with ticket sales, passes, and financials. They also organize student volunteers and work to create a warm, inviting, and safe environment for fans, families, and staff to enjoy the game.

REPORTS TO:    Jacob Premo, Athletic Director

COMPENSATION:   $12.50 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect admission fees during home athletic events and accurately distribute tickets to spectators.

Reconcile cash boxes and total admission sales against the number of tickets distributed at the conclusion of each event.

Keep track of and verify all student and adult athletic passes.

Communicate effectively, politely, and courteously with diverse groups of attendees, guests, and school staff.

Volunteer Supervision: Oversee and guide student volunteers assisting at the gates.

Act in a professional and dependable manner, ensuring regular and reliable attendance as an essential job expectation.

Work cooperatively with athletic staff, facility coordinators, and school administrators to ensure smooth event operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work evening hours (typically 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm) and select Saturdays.

Willingness to support both high school and middle school games, with high school events taking priority.

Available to work throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons.

Must satisfactorily pass:

Must receive a satisfactory response to 4205-F Authorization for Release of Information and Employee History Check Under 1996 P.A.189 of 1996; MCL380.1230b. 

Law enforcement background checks with fingerprinting.

Personal and professional reference background check.
