Overview

IMEX is looking for an enthuastic, self starter Gate Clerk to controls access to intermodal facilities and provides clerical support by performing inspections of intermodal containers.ย 

The starting pay is $18.24 (then 19.24 after probationary)ย 

Prefered but not required bi-lingual in spanish and english.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs inspections on all inbound and outbound intermodal units using an automated computerized gate system and/or handheld device.
  • Use Windows programs for details on transactions and corrections to transactions.
  • Track and update system issues and problems.
  • Notes the conditions of trailers, chassis or containers after inspection
  • Control access onto facilities.
  • Maintains assigned equipment & ensures work area is clean and orderly.
  • Performs work in accordance with established safety & quality management procedures.
  • Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.
  • All other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual (English- Spanish) required.ย 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY
