Gas Meter Relight Technician (Fully Qualified)
Job Type: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 Hourly

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform change-outs of existing gas utility meters and install gas module upgrades, as required, as well as shut down and relight gas appliances. The ability to identify hazardous conditions as it relates to gas appliances. Be proficient in gas appliance safeties and operations. Assume responsibility for the safe operation of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools. Commitment to customer service and responding to the needs of internal and external customers professionally.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Computer and smartphone literate
  • Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
  • Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
  • Mechanically inclined and has experience with a variety of tools.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no supervision
  • This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) experience with gas meter exchange and relight.
  • BGE OQ 18 required. Relight is optional but preferred.
  • Gas Fitter's License, a plus.

Pre-Screen:
  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Physical Requirements:
  • RARE (less than 10%): sitting, crawling, climbing poles, climbing ladders
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): kneeling, climbing on/off trucks, lifting up to 50 lbs.
