Job description

Garlock Sealing Technologies is a global manufacturer of high-performance fluid sealing and pipeline solutions with an emphasis on product safety, longevity, and productivity. Our solutions provide industry-leading sealing integrity and performance in several industries throughout the world with businesses in Canada, Mexico and North America.

SCHEDULE:

  • 2nd Shift: 2PM-10PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates components for buffers as well as items to be issued to final assembly.
  2. Sets up and operates various metal fabricating machines to manufacture components to include the grooving, spinning, perforating, trimming, welding, forming, fitting and grinding of metal components, such as outercases, filler rings, and adapters.
  3. Performs product identification, and any final assembly operations per customer requirement.
  4. Performs in-process and final component inspections as required per order and/or work instructions.  Inspections may require a visual and/or dimensional verification requiring the use of various measuring devices. 
  5. Machines proper contour, O.D., and faces on new and/or existing spin chucks.
  6. Material handling as required, may require use of Lift Truck.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Keeps work area clean.
  2. Completes all associated documentation as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
  3. Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines.
  4. Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
  5. Performs routine and preventative maintenance including but not limited to the oiling and care of machines.
  6. Ability to read a tape measure and use other measuring instruments.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:      Must be able to read and interpret prints and adjustable measuring devices, as close tolerances must be observed in grinding and sanding parts.  Must be able to do heavy lifting.

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED:      Up to 30 lbs., anything over 30 lbs. requires two people or mechanical means

FREQUENCY PER SHIFT:                          Up to 10 times per day.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Dirt, (dust), noise, water, oil, vibration, grease, and chemical solution

These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $24.72 - $26.67 hourly.
